Sky Sports sources understand Ashley Young has agreed personal terms ahead of his proposed move to Manchester United from Aston Villa.

The talented midfielder, who has also undergone a brief medical, is now expected to complete a switch to Old Trafford when he returns from holiday.

It emerged on Thursday that the Premier League champions had held discussions with Young'srepresentatives over a possible switch to Old Trafford.

The England international admitted earlier this summer that he was keen to play at the very highest level, sparking speculation that he would leave Villa Park this summer.

United have been credited with a long-term interest in the former Watford player, while Liverpoolwere also understood to be monitoring the situation.

And Sir Alex Ferguson now looks to have pipped the Reds to yet another transfer target, with Blackburn defender Phil Jones already on course to join the 19-times champions of England.

Skysports.com understands that Sunderland have launched a triple bid on Manchester United by making offers for Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Darron Gibson.

Sunderland are busy in the transfer market with Jordan Henderson set to finalise his move to Liverpool.

Now Black Cats chiefs have made their own moves and have lodged a bid of around £12million for the trio.

And it is believed United are ready to do business for the trio of players who have all come through the ranks at Old Trafford.

Defender Brown, 31, midfielder Gibson, 23, and utility man O'Shea, 30, will now decide whether they want to make the switch to Wearside in the coming days.

Skysports.com understands Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.

Speculation has intimated Nasri is on United's radar and skysports.com has now learnt he is the club's top target.

The talented French schemer's reluctance to engage in contract talks with Arsenal until he is satisfied their transfer targets are of the required standard to mount a title push next season has alerted Sir Alex Ferguson to his possible availability.

Despite being close to wrapping up a deal for Blackburn defender Phil Jones and Atletico Madridgoalkeeper David de Gea, amid widespread speculation Aston Villa's Ashley Young is also heading for Old Trafford, Ferguson's appetite for new signings has yet to be sated.

Nasri is seen as an ideal replacement for the retired Paul Scholes, with the centre of the field an area United's management are keen to revamp with fresh talent.

Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder has been linked but Nasri, with just a season left on his existing deal, could be a more realistic deal to finance.

Arsene Wenger would be loath to lose one of key men, especially given Nasri's exit would likely lead to other members of his squad questioning their own futures.

However, United are now ready to test Arsenal's resolve to keep a player who has previously intimated he would be open to the prospect of moving to Manchester.

Manchester United target Shinji Kagawa has admitted he would be interested in a move to Old Trafford.

The Borussia Dortmund playmaker is believed to have attracted interest of Premier League champions United after impressing for club and country over the last few seasons.

United have been tracking Kagawa's progress for the last year and they are reportedly weighing up a move for the midfielder.

Kagawa admits he would be interested in a move to United if they came calling for him.

Interest

"If I get a formal offer, I'll be strongly interested in listening to what they have to say," Kagawa told Nikkan Sports.

"The Premiership is one of the leagues I want to challenge,"

"If it is Man Utd, I'll be still more eager to go and try how much I can do there."

Dortmund are keen to keep Kagawa and are ready to tie him down to a new deal as they prepare for a tilt at the Champions League next season.

PostSubject: Wesley Sneijder set to join!!!   Manchester United Pre-Season Transfer News EmptyTue Jul 12, 2011 11:59 pm

WESLEY SNEIJDER is ready to sign for Manchester United this week in a club record £35million deal.

And the Inter Milan midfielder is expected to agree a bumper contract that would eclipse even Wayne Rooney's £220,000 a week.

A team-mate said: "Everyone expects Wesley's move to United to be announced soon, maybe as early as Wednesday."

Sneijder's arrival will take United boss Alex Ferguson's summer spending to more than £85m - just £5m more than he picked up when he sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid in July 2009.

Inter are resigned to cashing in on the 27-year-old Dutchman.

The source added: "He has even spoken to Dutch international team-mate Nigel de Jong to find out where are the best places to live in Manchester.

"It all looks imminent, no matter what Inter or Wesley may say in public.

"It seems Inter want to sell but don't want to admit it, while Wesley wants to go but doesn't want to say it. It's a good move for him and good business for Inter."

Sneijder joined the Italians from Real Madrid in 2009 and helped them win the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia in his first season in Milan.

But injuries restricted him to just 25 appearances last term, as Inter finished runners-up to neighbours AC in the race for the Serie A crown.
